The first of two correction requests Zebra Fact Check sent to PolitiFact on this date concerned PolitiFact’s fact check of a movie trailer.
In its criticism of the “2000 Mules” trailer, PolitiFact included a subheading that falsely described both the trailer and PolitiFact’s evaluation of the trailer. PolitiFact changed the offending line not long after we sent the correction request.
As of 11:56 a.m. EDT on May 5, 2022, the correction was accomplished via stealth edit.

Your May 4, 2022 fact-check of the “2000 Mules” trailer contains a false statement in need of correction.
The false statement occurs in the story’s second subheading and finds no support in the fact check: “The allegations in the trailer stem from cell phone footage.”
No. The allegations in the trailer stem from cell phone location data and surveillance video footage. That’s made clear enough in the body of the story, contradicting the subheader.
