Zebra Fact Check sent two correction requests to PolitiFact on May 5, 2022. The first of the two we documented here. We delayed documenting the second. We decided on the delay because PolitiFact made a change, albeit via stealth edit, after the first correction request but made no apparent change after the second correction request.
Under the assumption that submitting the two requests in a narrow time frame and using the same subject header may have misled PolitiFact, we decided to submit the second correction request a second time on May 6, 2022.
We document both those submissions below.
As of May 20, 2022, PolitiFact had taken no apparent corrective action in response to these requests.
Pre-republication update Feb 13, 2026: Alas, this post was redundant except for noting PolitiFact had not moved to fix its mistakes. Both complaints were documented by the time we popped this one out.
