At long last we have completed the migration of the WordPress Zebra Fact Check over to Substack.
The automated process didn’t work in our case. A handful of posts appeared with the automated migration. The rest we loaded one by one as drafts, then published those one by one from first to last.
A note about the time stamps: The old website didn’t use timestamps more specific than the publish date. As a result, the a.m./p.m. timestamps are essentially made up. We just focused on making sure the posts appear in their original order.
Along the way we updated quite a few links and images. Some of the images may represent anachronisms. That is, the image may not have been designed at the time it appears in a post.
To cure the .pdf display problem that plagued the old website we’re turning emails into text and linking to the original document where disclosure ethics permit.
