No, I haven’t posted a whole lot lately.
It’s not for lack of subject matter, though. Mainstream fact checkers still stink at what they do. The International Fact-Checking Network makes a farce of accountability. And the media seem resistant to our revisionist take on the Brooks Brothers riot, among other things.
No, this was just a matter of WordPress not necessarily migrating smoothly to Substack. I had to review, rewrite and manually transfer posts from over 10 years of publishing. The good news? That work is pretty much finished. Almost all my work from the WordPress Zebra Fact Check site now exists as unpublished drafts. Next I finalize editing the posts to work with the new format, then it’s a matter of publishing them to this site, backdating them to their original publish dates.
To all those who commented at the old site, thank you very much for participating. And whoever was saving my pages to the Internet Archive, I can’t thank you enough. In linking back to WordPress pages I don’t think I encountered a single one that hadn’t been archived.
I tried to update the links and tags, but for sure I missed quite a few. Especially the tags, because Substack often tired of allowing me to add new tags.
Forward, into the past! And once we’re caught up, new material.
