We found Lead Stories had addressed the question of whether abortions are ever medically necessary using the same equivocal approach we saw from other fact-checking organizations having verified status through the International Fact-Checking Network. We sent a correction request to Lead Stories on July 23, 2022.

The annual assessment, by independent assessor Margot Susca, was dated May 17, 2019.
